6 Letter words ending in RAG are perhaps an obscure subject for the learning list, but I will try to get back to basics next week. There are 14 words of 6, 7 or 8 letters that end in RAG, although not all of them have anything to do with rags.

In addition to those there is one 9 letter word and one 10 letter word, but they have such interesting meanings I am mentioning them as well. Scrabble players like interesting words, even if they are unlikely to be able to play them. I can’t wait to find an excuse to drop the 2nd one into a conversation!

This is in our dictionary, but not the sanitized dictionary used in some countries where the Americans have deleted words that they believe to be offensive. In this case it is because it is an offensive term for an Arab.

ORGANZA

A transparent silk or nylon

BATGIRL

A girl who minds baseball equipment. BATBOY is also allowed

ROADHOG

A selfish or aggressive driver

NAGWARE

I bet you didn’t know this word, but have experienced it. It is a computer term for software that they allow you to have for free, but then nags you to make a donation.
