VEE for Victory

In his win at the 2023 masters over Easter Andrew played a couple of bingos that started with a V and had a double E in the word

VENDEES

The people to whom something is sold

VOTEENS

An Irish word for people who are devotees of something. Since you are reading this blog you must be a VOTEEN of Scrabble. It has an anagram – VENTOSE – which is an apparatus sometimes used to help in childbirth which includes a suction cup to be placed on the head of the baby. That apparatus can be spelled VENTOUSE

Two nice words. Vee for Victory is obviously Andrew’s tip for success, but what other words are there that fit this pattern?

VEEPEES

A colloquial term for Vice Presidents

VEERIES

The plural of VEERY – an American thrush

VEERING

Changing direction. It takes an S for VEERINGS. There are two anagrams – REEVING and REGIVEN.

VENEERS

To overlay with thin layers. VENEERED and VENEERER are both good. There are also 2 anagrams – EVENERS and ENERVES

VAKEELS

The plural of VAKEEL – An Indian lawyer. Can also be spelled VAKIL

VESTEES

The plural of VESTEE – A garment worn underneath a woman’s jacket or blouse. This has an anagram of STEEVES which is from the verb STEEVE – To stow something in the hold of a ship

VOIDEES

The plural of VOIDEE – Wine and light food taken before going to bed

VISITEE

The person to whom a visit is made

VOUCHEE

A person for whom someone else vouches

VEEJAYS

Announcers on a program of music videos. However this last one has an anagram which leads me off into a subsection on 7 letter JAY words that also include a double E

JAYVEES

Players on a Junior Varsity sports team

DEEJAYS

Performs as a disc jockey

JAYCEES

Members of a Junior Chamber of Commerce

JAYGEES

Military officers

Congratulations Andrew

See you all tonight

Patrick
